Lone Star Flag of Independence

The "Bonnie Blue" Lone Star flag, a solid blue flag with a single white star in the middle,  flew over the Free and Independent State of West Florida from September 23 to December 6, 1810, in an area between Mississippi and Louisiana.  The flag became theLone Star Flag unofficial flag of the South during the Civil War.

The Texas Navy flew a modified "stars and stripes" with a single star over a period of years preceding the Civil War, and the Republic of Texas adopted a  Lone Star variation for  their official flag in 1839.

California raised a Lone Star variation in the 1846 Bear Flag Revolt, some believe in a show of solidarity with Texas, in their parallel conflict with Mexico.  The Bear Flag was soon replaced with the Stars & Stripes when the United States went to war with Mexico.  A refined Bear Flag is the official State flag of California.

The Bonnie Blue Flag was raised over the Mississippi capitol building at the signing of the Ordinance of Secession in 1861, and various States adopted Lone Star variations in their State flags, such as Mississippi's Magnolia Flag, flown from 1861-1894, composed of the Bonnie Blue Flag and a green magnolia tree..

Song of the Bonnie Blue Flag

The message of the lone star is independence, displayed originally as West Florida independence from Spain, later as separation from Mexico, and at the Civil War it symbolized an independence from the United States.   The star remains a symbol of many State flags, showing both a unity with and independence from Washington, the lone star representing one of the 50 stars. on the United States flag.

The States' Liberty Party proposes a new lone star flag showing an intent by each of the 50 states to take back their former authority in Washington.  Repealing the seventeenth amendment to the United States Constitution will return control of the US Senate to the separate States.

Another version of the flag copies the Texas version shown earlier.  The United States flag contains just the single "lone star" with a ring of characters surrounding it reading "REPEAL 17TH AMENDMENT", not too dissimilar to early Unites States flags containing a ring of 13 stars or 12 with one in the middle.   The 13 stripes represent the 13 colonies that devised a new system of government under the control of the separate colonies or States, before changed by the 17th amendment.

Either of these flags will reflect a "lone star" statement of States' independence from Washington by way of repealing the seventeenth amendment.

Webmasters:  You may copy and to slightly modify the above two flags originally created by States' Liberty Party for placement on your site, if the clear intent is a desire to repeal the seventeenth amendment to the United States Constitution.
