WHO’S BEHIND THE RECALL? Gray Davis's Taxpayers Against the Recall asks who is behind the recall before listing the names of eleven "extremist" organizations. The States' Liberty Party, a tiny web site political organization, is among them, as is the California Republican Party and Republican Assembly. Davis will tell you that we "promoters of the recall":
The States' Liberty Party does none of these. Our position is States' rights. We believe that, within reasonable limits, the people have the right to make these determinations through their elected State representatives. We have had a longstanding position on health care for all, a focus on California's existing "socialized" county medical system that has for many years provided free or low cost health care for the needy. Gray Davis and other Democrats will call this no health care, because it is not an insurance plan. Democrats usually will oppose any health care plan that does not provide universal health care insurance. The advantage of our plan is it's already working, improvement will be at minimal or no cost by relying heavily on volunteers and labor exchanged for education, and it separates private and public health care, giving citizens more, not less choice.
